Grounding Values.

When we come together for Circles and Classes these values ground our work together.

  1. We center the most marginalized among us.

We accept their feelings, experiences, and perspectives on their face- without prequalification.

We will work to be aware of our Intersectionality, privilege, and conditioning; and own these parts of ourselves without judgment.

  2. This is a judgment free zone - shame has no place here.

We are all healing, and will conduct ourselves with kindness, giving grace liberally.

We will listen without seeking to respond.

We will not offer advice that is not asked for specifically. If a suggestion is offered, we will do so from a place of wisdom, not curiosity.

No assessment will be made on another's character based on what is shared, revealed, or discovered by them through this process.

  3. We affirm one another.

We affirm the individual identity of each person present, and their inherent right to sovereignty.

We affirm the right for everyone to create boundaries for themselves and to enforce them if needed.

We affirm the right to consent: to participation, to privacy, to self determination, and to revoke that consent if so moved.

We affirm the right to safety and wholistic security.

    We affirm all spiritual pathways.

  4. This container is sacred and we will maintain it as such.

We embrace confidentiality, and will not speak about what is shared without consent.

We will allow all to share their stories and support them in finding their voice and healing.

We will restrain ourselves when we see the possibility of harm and will be accountable if we inadvertently cause it.

In Session Reminders:

Be mindful of your breath.

Sharing is never required.

Grant yourself permission to feel, to express, and to process emotions and awarenesses that may come up.

Know that it is ok to move, walk around, get a snack and process kinetically. This may also include crying, closing your eyes, rocking, changing your position, or any other type of movement that helps you find peace.

If ever you need it, take a minute or two to exit the space, but please return. If the subject matter or energy is just too overwhelming, and staying is not possible give me a peace symbol as you exit and your need for space will be respected.
